Summer Hair
Summer is right around the corner.
Your hair can take a beating from the damaging effects of the sun, salt and chlorine water. There are several ways to protect your hair from these environmental effects.
If you are going to spend a lot of time in the sun, get into the habit of covering your hair. Hats are a great way to protect your hair from the sun for both male and female. Bandanas and Scarves are also good cover ups from the sun for both male and female.
Keep your hair covered as much as possible in the summer months. Hats, Scarfs, and Bandana's can also be fashionable! Make a fashion statement while you protect your hair.
If you are a swimmer, salt water and chlorine pools can also be very damaging to your hair.
Here area few tips:
Before you go into the water, rinse your hair with tap water. This
will fill the cuticle of your hair before salt and chlorine will.
Next, put a conditioner in the hair and leave it in while you swim. You can also use a sunscreen.
Shampoo your hair with a "clarifying" shampoo about once a week. This will remove residue from the minerals in the water.
You can substitute a mixture of baking soda and water. Create a paste, then rub all over your hair and rinse.
Pay extra attention to your hair in the summer, and it will treat you well!

The Benefits of Scalp Massage
Scalp Massage can benefit not only the scalp, but also the hair and mind. Scalp Massage encourages circulation, which promotes hair growth. It also relieves tension.
Usually a scalp massage includes an essential oil. Certain oils can prevent dry itchy scalp, dandruff and promote hair growth. Four of the most common essential oils for scalp massage are: Lavender, Rosemary, Tea Tree, and Melissa (also known as Lemon Balm). All four are very beneficial to the scalp.
When applied, they can be mixed into a shampoo, or a "carrier oil".
Two beneficial carrier oils are Coconut oil, and Olive oil. These both work well with essential oils. They not only mix well with essential oils, but they are well known for their conditioning properties.
Scalp Massage can also relieve stress and headaches. Applying pressure with both the palms of the hands and fingertips can target certain pressure points on the scalp.
Scalp massage is very relaxing. Using acupressure can relieve blockages in your energy flow that can cause fatigue and certain illness.
Scalp massage is very beneficial service.
For only 10 minutes a month, you can be on your way to not only healthier hair and scalp; but a healthier you!

The
New Year is right around the corner. It gives us an opportunity for a
fresh start! It also gives us the incentive to make change, create
healthier habits, and renew our selves from the inside out.
"Getting Rid of the Old, and Bringing in the New" is hard for some of us.
Some people adapt very well to change, and others do not
How long have you had the same Hair Style?
Have you wanted to try a new cut, but just did not know where to start?
Have you had a magazine clipping of a style tucked away somewhere just waiting for the right time to submit it to your stylist?
OR
Do you just feel like you do not want to change?
I feel change is good. It brings on new experiences, and makes life
much more exciting! It allows you to "exfoliate and regenerate new
cells" inside and out. Change is very healthy.
So, what are you waiting for?! Submit that magazine clipping to your stylist for the New Year!
If you feel insecure, and do not know where to start, look at
pictures in magazines. Work with your stylist to determine your face
shape. And, do not to expect to look EXACTLY like the picture!
The texture, form and density of your hair will also play a big part
in the cut. Is your hair coarse in texture? Is it curly, wavy or
straight? Do you have fine hair or is it thick? Talk to your stylist about your options.
Have fun with your New Look!
