Below, you will find haircutting tips taken directly from the following chapters:
CHAPTER 7 - HOW TO CUT SHORT LAYERS INTO THE HAIR
CHAPTER 6 - HOW TO CUT AN ALL THE SAME LENGTH HAIRCUT
CHAPTER 5 - HOW TO CUT THE BANGS

The first 6 cuts below, are considered short layered hair cuts. Amazing, Hah? Though every look is different, they are still cut with the same overall technique. Imagine how many cuts that you can achieve with the knowledge of just one technique! First, connect segments 1-5 to complete the length. Then, cut segment 6 as your top guide. Work on 1 segment at a time to connect the top and bottom guides. Imagine that you are "connecting the dots".When cutting, focus on the crease in between your fingers. Make sure it is straight and aligned with the "dots" that you are connecting to and from.

Below, is Kate "before" with a haircut that is all the same length. Here, all of her hair is combed down and cut at the same guide. Divide the hair into the 5 appropriate segments, then start your first cut at the back. This would be considered segment #1. Complete the one length haircut in chapter 6. Then, cut bangs into the hair by following the steps in chapter 5.

Girls Conservative Hair CutsTo the right, is Kate "after" with a shorter cut. If you look at Kate from the side, she has shorter layers in the bottom back.

In the front, it almost looks all one length. This cut is achieved by sectioning the hair into 6 segments;(adding the extra segment for your top guide.)

Starting in the back, you will create the bottom guide of this style. Incorporate short layers on the bottom all the way around the head. By following the fundamentals in chapter 7, you will understand how blend the front and back segments together. Doing so, will allow you to leave more weight in the front than in the back.

Now, go to chapter 5 and add bangs to the hair.

It really isn't as hard as it looks!
